Actor talks future projects, says being in the business doesn’t have to “get personal”

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, two of the stars of “The Twilight Saga,” are now busily promoting the final installment in the film, “Breaking Dawn Part 2.” Below is Robert Pattinson’s interview with Savannah Guthrie on The Today Show.

The star came on the show precisely one day after Kristen. Both confirm that the ending of the upcoming film, which arrives in theaters on November 16, is different from the book, and both refuse to talk about their romance.

Over the summer, Kristen reportedly cheated on Robert, whom she’d been dating for 3+ years, with Rupert Sanders, who directed her in “Snow White and the Huntsman.”

Just recently, they got back together, word has it but, if they did, neither is saying a peep.

Guthrie tried to get Pattinson to get a bit more personal, but he carefully dodged all her questions, while also managing to still come across as the nice guy, as the video below will confirm.

“I want to ask, because we get asked that all the time. It’s like, ‘Who is actually asking? Is it in your contract?’” Pattinson says when Guthrie asks him about getting back together with Kristen because “people” want to know.

He continues to say that, in his business, not everything has to be personal, thus stating an older credo of his, he can still do movies without having to tell the world everything.

“It doesn’t have to be [personal]. It only becomes personal if you answer it,” he says.

In the same interview, Robert talks about how “Breaking Dawn Part 2” will actually be “the end of an era,” and jokes about feeling like he’s older already now that it’s over.

He also shares a few details about his future projects, and insists that he hates being called R-Pattz because it sounds like “an antacid tablet.”
