Getting a smooch from the hottest young male star of the moment does not come cheap but it is certainly worth the money. “Twilight” star Robert Pattinson agreed to take part in an impromptu auction that would see him give a kiss on the cheek of the daughter of the highest bidder, and managed to sell not one such peck, but actually two, at the whopping price of over $25,000 apiece, USA Today informs.

The amfAR Cinema Against AIDS banquet attracted, as usual, major stars in cinematography, but not only. Among them was also Robert Pattinson, who somehow got the attention of host Sharon Stone – it was the “Basic Instinct” star that proposed a kiss from Rob as the next item up for auction. Not surprisingly, the “Twilight” hottie agreed and even joked that “if it goes really well, maybe it’ll turn into something more,” although members in the audience could clearly see he was not one hundred percent comfortable with being up on stage.

Still, a good sport until the end, as the media labeled his actions of the other night, Robert did his part very well and even uttered a couple of words meant to encourage bidders to offer more money. In exchange for the $50,000+ Robert helped raise, two lucky girls will receive an autograph photo of the star and, of course, a kiss on the cheek each. The AIDS cause, though, will receive a considerable flow of money, made possible with Pattinson’s contribution as well.

Robert Pattinson will be seen next, as fans must know, in “New Moon,” the sequel to the highly successful “Twilight.” Another one of his recent performances, as Salvador Dali in “Little Ashes,” has not been received warmly by critics, although fans would certainly beg to differ when it comes to the British actor’s acting abilities. Just recently, Pattinson also agreed to start work on another project, “Unbound Captives,” where he’ll be joining “Wolverine” star Hugh Jackman, while also making some time to confirm that the fourth book in the “Twilight Saga,” “Breaking Dawn,” is a go with him on board.

On the same note, Pattinson is expected to make a surprise appearance at this year’s MTV Movie Awards on May 31, where he’ll introduce the first one-minute long segment from the upcoming “New Moon.” So, keep an eye on this space for more. In the meanwhile, see the clip below with Pattinson at the amfAR auction.
