He is “in good spirits,” determined to get healthy

The Kardashian - Jenner family is inarguably the most overexposed family in showbiz, but that’s because they make a living out of it, what with their reality show and related ventures. By contrast, Rob Kardashian, the brother of Kim, Khloe and Kourtney, has been living as a recluse for more than a year.

Rumor has it (and it’s fueled by the Kardashians themselves) that he’s either struggling with severe body-confidence issues because he can’t lose weight, or with a drug / alcohol problem. The more negative reports mention a combination of both.

Gossip Extra says that Rob has quietly checked into rehab.

Rob is focusing on his health, will be MIA for a while longer

The last time Rob was seen in public was when he left before his sister’s wedding: he attended Kim and Kanye’s Parisian pre-wedding celebrations, but reportedly got into a fight with Kim because he was “ruining” her wedding portraits and didn’t attend the actual ceremony.

The photo attached to this article was snapped as he landed at LAX. However, by that moment, he had already been struggling with his weight for a long time, yo-yo dieting and sinking deeper into depression.

Mark Behar, a bodyguard to celebrities and one of Rob’s friends, tells the e-zine that Rob is now in a Florida center as part of a 60-day in-patient program. The focus will be on losing weight, Behar claims. He adds that Rob was in “good spirits” when he checked in.

“He told me ‘This is it, I just need to stick with it and do this.’ Rob will probably lose 10 to 20 pounds [4.5 to 9.07 kg] within the first few weeks by just being in rehab and daily programs relating to his detox,” the alleged friend notes.

The center has a very strict policy for the first month and a half of the treatment, banning all contact for patients with the outside world, either via phone or from visits from family members.

The Kardashians hinted at an upcoming rehab stint

If you’re a fan of the Keeping Up with the Kardashians reality show, you probably know that Rob’s issues with weight gain and low self-esteem were a major story arc on the series.

Those who struggled the most with the fact that Rob shut out his entire family, refusing to see them for weeks on a row were sister Khloe and mom Kris Jenner. It was the later who mentioned an intervention to get him to rehab and thus provide him with the help he needed, but it didn’t have the result she counted on.

Still, this served to indicate that rehab was the only option left for Rob, who may also be struggling with addiction.
