Harper Entertainment, a branch of HarperCollins Publishers, announced that they have already signed a deal with the actor for an upcoming autobiography. The representatives from the publishing house refused to disclose the terms of the agreement (namely, how much money Robert will get for his life's story) but told the press that the book will definitely offer a candid look into the ups and downs of his career and personal life.
The book will be finalized and on the shelves of all stores by 2008. Considering the actor's brilliant and acclaimed acting roles and his many legal encounters, Robert's memoirs will surely make a catching reading.
Back in the '90s, Downey was named by the local and international press Hollywood's worst boy because of his seemingly untreatable addiction to drugs and alcohol and violent behavior. He also spent a lot of time in jail and was almost permanently involved in some scandal or another.
Now, years later, at the ripe age of 41, Downey decided to reveal to the world his real self. He is currently a recuperating addict and his acting career has seen a new launch, with the semi-animated movie 'A Scanner Darkly', which opens in cinemas today.
