A new trailer for the movie “The Judge,” starring Robert Downey Jr., has landed online. The movie sees the actor take a departure from the light roles he's been portraying lately, and delve deeper into his repertoire with this thrilling courtroom drama.

Downey plays a successful yet cocky lawyer who comes back to his small town origins to find his stubborn father, played by Duvall, accused of a crime, despite being the town's judge. While the previous trailer focused on Downey's funny quips and character, this one focuses more on his personal drama, the failed relationship between him and his father and their joint effort to take back all those lost years.

The movie enjoys an excellent cast apart from the two title roles: Billy Bob Thornton, Vera Farmiga, Vincent D'Onofrio and Dax Shepard, all lend their talents to this touching coming-home story.

The direction for this movie is signed by David Dobkin, while the script is written by Nick Schenk and Bill Dubuque. For those interested in watching Downey play a role with more substance on screen, “The Judge” will begin playing in theaters starting October 10, after it was premiered at the Toronto Film Festival.
