John Goodman hosted this week’s edition of Saturday Night Live on NBC and, for one particular, very festive skit, he had some help from the outside, from actors Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro.

The skit was called “Three Wise Guys” and was a spin on the biblical tale of the three magi traveling to meet baby Jesus. This time, though, the wise guys were from New York and New Jersey, seriously gangster and not so much into religion.

Each of the three bragged about the presents they were bringing baby Jesus, took guesses about his last name and whether he was Hispanic, and complained about the long journey there. At least Sly’s camel was wearing shoes, so here’s to small wonders.

Stallone and De Niro are now promoting a new movie, the comedy “Grudge Match,” in which they play aging boxers who decide to have one final go at defeating the other. You know, just in case you were wondering how come they both agreed to do the skit.

As for Goodman, this was his thirteenth time hosting the show. He’s the closest thing to a regular, in a way.
