Robbie Williams, now preparing for a comeback to the music scene with the “Reality Killed the Video Star” album, has finally acknowledged the power of Simon Cowell in terms of making hits, reports in the British media say. As such, the singer will perform “Bodies,” his first single off the album, on the season premiere of X Factor next month, Marie Claire confirms.

“Robbie Williams fans listen up! The solo singer is set to relaunch his career to the world on the X Factor live show, it has been confirmed. Robbie will appear on the reality TV talent show next month when the final 12 finalists are battling it out to be crowned the X Factor winner.” the British publication says of the upcoming performance. Robbie himself has confirmed the reports, professing to be a fan of the show and expressing his enthusiasm at the opportunity offered to him.

“I’m a huge fan of The X Factor. Of course I’ll be watching every week, just like everyone else.” the former member of Take That is quoted as saying. Of course, he’s not the only one to be overjoyed at the idea of the performance, as the producers of the show are also said to be extremely satisfied with the outcome of the negotiations. “Getting Robbie is a huge coup for us. We are still talking about him mentoring or give the finalists a masterclass.” an insider from ITV, the network producing X Factor, tells the British media.

“Bodies” is the first official single off “Reality Killed the Video Star,” Robbie’s first album after a three-year break following the release of “Rudebox.” Although a critical success, “Rudebox” failed to get the kind of welcome expected, especially in the US, where its release managed to go by practically unnoticed. The failed release even caused some friction between the singer and the record label, which paid him an estimated £80million in 2002 for a five-album deal.

Below is Robbie William’s first single from the comeback album, “Bodies,” the track he’ll perform on X Factor in just a few weeks. An official statement from ITV is still pending, but keep an eye on this space for when it comes.
