Despite strongly believing that he’d die a lonely man, Robbie Williams has tied the knot with his girlfriend of 3 years Ayda Field over the weekend, just like we
also reported he would. The singer and his fiancée exchanged vows in front of 75 people at his Los Angeles home, in a ceremony themed in white and silver, as
People magazine can confirm.
Reports in the media say that the couple chose a chocolate wedding cake with sea salt and baklava to honor Ayda’s Turkish heritage. The bride was decked in a multi-layered wedding gown, with white roses pinned in her hair and a ‘do styled by Ken Paves, the same man who also does the hair of Eva Longoria, Jessica Simpson and Victoria Beckham. After a 30-minute ceremony in which the two exchanged vows, the bride and groom asked guests to move to an adjoining tent where they spent the rest of the night dancing, eating and having fun.
“British pop star Robbie Williams and actress Ayda Field are married. The couple, who met in 2006, exchanged vows Saturday in front of about 75 friends and family members at his Beverly Hills home. ‘The ceremony was very beautiful and romantic,’ a source tells People. The bride, 31, wore a white dress with her hair pinned up while Williams, 36, wore a black tuxedo,” People magazine writes.
“‘At last, Rob is happy,’ the singer’s father, Pete Conway, told Britain’s News of the World. ‘That’s what you want for your kids and this is the happiest I’ve seen him. Ayda is so beautiful and so delightful and so lovely and just so right for him. They are brilliant together.’ After the 30-minute ceremony, guests enjoyed a sunset cocktail reception with champagne and gourmet hors d’oeuvre. The couple will continue their celebration with sit-down dinner and dancing,” the same mag further informs.
After the wedding and the reception, Robbie and Ayda are believed to have set forth for the island of Santa Catalina, where they’re to spend 2 weeks for their honeymoon. Other
details related to the wedding that have already transpired in the press concern a reported pre-nup that Robbie had Ayda sign before saying “I Do,” meant to protect his £80 million fortune in the eventuality of a divorce.
