The troublesome pop star has just finished working on his latest album. Unfortunately, he says, this will also be his last one, as he feels that too much attention has made him addicted to it and this is not the life that he wants to lead anymore.
Robbie has been courting controversy from the moment in which he decided to abandon his fellow mates from Take That and his rise to fame has permanently been marred by tabloid stories, covering issues ranging from alleged drug abuse to his sexuality.
In a recent interview, Robbie said that he will be taking an 18-month break from his music, to ponder on his life and on the way he could improve it.': 'I've got to take the view over the next 18 months and see if I want to be part of the machine anymore, because I don't see me singing again.'
But the first thing on William's list is to wait for a while and see if he could ever get used to the lack of attention from the media. 'It's a question of what I want and where I want to be. Can I live without radio picking my song and putting it on the playlist? Or is this fame thing something I'm addicted to? I don't know where I stand with it all at the moment. Do I take things into my own hands and dismantle this monster and have a nice life', the superstar added.
Until then, one thing is for sure: because he wasn't able to conquer the American public by now, he will stop trying. The singer says that he won't be releasing his latest album in the US and his answer was more than decided: 'They're not having me there, I'm not releasing it there'.
