The (in)famous British star pushed back the date of release for his album '1974' when he found out that it will coincide with that of Timberlake's 'FutureSex/LoveSounds', a source from the industry told the 'The Sun' Magazine.
Both materials were due in stores on September 11, but Robbie chose to delay his until the beginning of October for fear of the competition.
Still, what he feared most will still get to him, as his album will have now to come out at the same time with The Killers' second release.
'Taking on Timberlake would have been madness but The Killers will still provide some serious competition', reports 'The Sun' in the latest issue.
But from rumors about '1974', Williams seems to have nothing to fear, as it is said to be one of his 'finest and most experimental album to date'. It includes more unusual cover versions, like 'Kiss Me' (Tin Tin Duffy) and 'Louise' (The Human League), an entire track dedicated to icon rocker David Bowie and two rap songs about his days in the boy-band Take That.
'1974' is produced by the Pet Shop Boys and Lily Allen is in charge of backing vocals. The release date will be set sometime later.
