Robbie Williams Closer to the Digital Era

Nowadays, the mobile phone starts to be much more than just a phone. Its name seems to be the only one to remain the same, while its functions become more and more versatile each day.

A new mobile, named "Walkman", has just come out on the market, having a link to Robbie William's web site and playing some of its songs or even videos. Robbie's manager opinion on this is that the digital revolution (as he calls the new technological developments) should go hand in hand with music industry, and not be considered a spurn.

Robbie Williams annoyed the showbiz executives by not blaming Internet piracy in what concerns music. On the contrary, he praised the idea, even calling it a great one. Also his manager, Tom Clark, seems to agree with Robbie.

In an interview taken before the star's tour (in 14 countries all over the world), he made another statement, saying that people downloading music from the Internet should be regarded like customers, rather than criminals or pirates. Therefore, even the label of "piracy" inside the expression "Internet piracy" should be given up and replaced with a more user-friendly etiquette.

As always, Robbie Williams is a pioneer in this area too and anticipates that technological improvements should not be seen as a turn-off for music industry, but, on the contrary, a helping hand.
