Robbie Williams launched his first album in two years this weekend, with a high-tech concert in Berlin, that was also shown live across Europe in select cinemas and on mobile phones. The British pop star's 90-minute performance beamed into 27 cinemas and nightclub venues in 11 countries, in high-definition with surround sound technology. The live stream of the INTENSIVE CARE concert could be watched by more than 100,000 mobile phone users, for the first time ever.
"To everyone in the cinema and watching on your phones, this is the future, baby, and I'll see you next year", Williams declared.
Meanwhile, the famous British singer had to deal with some problems that occurred while he stayed at Ritz-Carlton in Berlin with 50 Cent.
Trouble started when the pop star's fans mistook 50 Cent's car for Williams' and greeted him chanting "Robbie, Robbie". Williams complained to hotel management, asking it to control 50 Cent's late night partying.
"Williams spent the evening with members of his band in the bar, just drinking tea and mineral water. He had rehearsals the next day and always takes them very seriously. He was in need of a good night's sleep", a source told British newspaper The Daily Mirror.
"50 Cent's crew rolled back at 4 a.m., kept the bar open and wanted to play rap music in the lobby. After complaints from Williams' people, hotel managers had to ask 50's security to take control. The guys looked unimpressed - some claimed they'd never heard of Robbie", the man added.
