As he’s preparing to release his upcoming solo album, “Reality Killed the Video Star,” Robbie Williams is also looking for new ways to evolve artistically and, ironically enough, that means a return to where everything else started: the five-member Take That, from which he’s been notably absent ever since their comeback. Very open in the past about wanting to work with the band again, Williams is now back in the studio in New York, working on a “secret” track with the other four members, the Mirror informs.

Robbie is very enthusiastic about getting back together with his former mates, having worked out all the differences that made life impossible before this summer. He wants a reunion, sources say, and he wants it for purely personal reasons, money has nothing to do with it. In fact, Williams is so eager to work with the other members of Take That, he’s even willing to put in the extra effort in order to share the same stage with them again. Because of this, chances are the recent get-together in the studio has something to do with a new track they’re secretly working on.

“He is back with Take That in the studio and they’re all writing together again. Robbie wouldn’t be happy performing old Take That songs that he has had no part in. But if they can pen new tracks that they’re all happy with, they’ll record them and he’ll be back with them on stage.” an unnamed but reportedly in-the-know source says for the Mirror. Take That members were already in NYC working on the upcoming double album and, since Robbie also flew in on business, the five of them saw this as the perfect opportunity to finally do the much-talked-about reunion.

“The boys were back at the studio yesterday, Robbie arriving at 2.15pm – two hours after first arrivals Gary and Howard. The band are in the studio putting the final touches to a forthcoming live double album – but are expected to write new songs with Robbie. The source revealed: ‘The lads really did want to celebrate Mark’s stag do. But they thought it was the best place to hook up and start writing again without attracting too much attention. They are nowhere near recording anything. This was a writing session to see how they go.’” the Mirror further writes.

As it is usually the case with such rumors, representatives for Robbie or the Take That members were not immediately available for comment on this. However, before jumping to conclusions and already making plans for an upcoming Take That show in the old format, fans should bear in mind that this is not the first time reunion rumors emerge. If the report proves inaccurate, it won’t be the last either.
