After announcing that he plans to retire from showbiz sometime in the near future, the British singer Robbie Williams also sheds some light on what the future might hold for him in store. Unfortunately, children are not in the picture.
In a very candid interview (the kind Robbie doesn't give that often) with Britain's 'The Big Issue', he says that he doesn't want children because he doesn't want to see them getting hurt.
This decision comes after Williams went through a couple of serious depressions, the latest being a couple of months ago, when he was forced to cancel the Asian leg of his 'Close Encounters' international tour.
'I don't know if I want to be in a relationship. I don't believe that to be fulfilled you have to have kids. What's the point? I can't guarantee my child won't suffer pain because that kid is going to be in pain at some point in their life. I don't want to see that. It's too much.', Robbie tells the mag, which is sold by the homeless to raise money for those who live on the streets.
Besides stating that he doesn't want his children to go through the same traumatic experiences that he went through not long ago, Robbie says in the same interview that he has achieved all that he wanted to and, therefore, feels no need for kids to fulfill his life.
The 32-year-old singer claims he is now in the best place, having done all that he ever dreamed of doing. Maybe this would be a good time to retire for good, he hints again. 'There isn't a country I want to break, a stadium I want to play, nor a film I want to be in. It's time for Robbie to go away in people's minds - not to be in Britain for a bit.', he explains.
