Robbie Williams was forced to cancel the Asian leg of his international tour, citing as reason extreme tiredness and physical exhaustion. After bringing joy to fans all over the world, the British pop star was supposed to perform in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Singapore in November, with tickets sold out for almost each of these locations.
In Good Company, the singer's management firm, released a statement according to which he has decided against playing here, because it 'would be asking too much' from him. Robbie's representative also stated that he had been touring since May and that he can no longer cope with the stress and physical demands that such a huge tour implies.
On Friday, Robbie sang at the Milton Keynes Bowl, thus ending the UK leg of the tour. In October, he will play five gigs in South America, then head straight for Australia in December for the last dates of his 'Close Encounters' world tour.
Although many of the fans who bought tickets for the canceled shows are very disappointed about the announcement, those who went to the singer's previous gigs say that the news did not come as a surprise to them. 'He was out of control, touching up the backing singers and making a pass at the keyboard player. You could see it all on the big screen. He just wasn't himself. He couldn't stop sweating', one fan, present at the Milton Keynes gig, said.
