Plus size model, editor and actress Mia Amber Davis has died. She was only 36 and the cause of death is not yet known. Plus Model Magazine, where Mia was an editor, has confirmed the tragic news. Mia appeared in the comedy “Road Trip” as the voluptuous woman seducing the leading character. She’s also very well known for her work as a plus size model.
TMZ was the media outlet to break the story of her death, though it was unable to offer more details on what might have happened.
Shortly after word of this got online,
Plus Model Magazine issued a confirmation of the tragic event – again, without mentioning the cause of death or more details.
“Mia was a super model and industry leader because it was her love for the women she represented that kept pushing her when the industry itself did not embrace her,” reads a statement published on the official blog of the magazine.
Mia was one of the few well-recognized faces in the plus size modeling industry and, at the same time, a role model for all women with curves, constantly telling them they should embrace them, not try to get rid of them.
“Today we lost our dear friend, plus size model, industry leader and colleague but we have one more heavenly angel watching over us,” the statement further says.

TMZ informs that, while possibly not connected to her death, Mia underwent knee surgery shortly before she was rushed to the hospital after complaining of dizziness.
Her husband Michael Yard seems to be just as confused and shocked about news of her death as are her family and friends.
“TMZ spoke with Mia’s husband – Michael Yard – who told us the actress went under the knife Monday to correct an ongoing issue with her knee stemming from an old college basketball injury,” the e-zine writes.
Yard was in New York at the time, but he later spoke with Mia on the phone, and he says she seemed completely fine.
“However, hours later – Mike says he got a phone call from Mia’s cousin informing him that she was taking Mia to the hospital because Mia had been suffering from a bout of dizziness. Soon after, Mike says the unthinkable happened – he got another phone call informing him his wife had passed away,” TMZ writes.
Michael says he’s now trying to find out what has happened with his wife.
