This is the second time in just over a month when this happens

Road signs have once again been hacked in the United States. This time, the affected sign was in Provo, Utah, being altered to show a “God hates gays” message that was intermittently displayed with the regular “Follow Detour” text.

Annie Frewin, who was passing by, filmed the breached road sign and posted a video of it on YouTube.

According to RT, representatives of the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) are investigating the incident. The message apparently raises some questions regarding the town’s views on same-gender relations.

Town officials claim that it doesn’t represent their views, but many are arguing that it took a long time for the message to be taken down.

A similar situation occurred one month ago when a prankster gained access to the control panel of a road sign in Anchorage, Alaska, and made it display “Impeach Obama.”

Both these scenarios highlight the fact that in many cases the boxes that house the control panels on these signs are not properly secured.
