Rise of the Tomb Raider, the recently confirmed next iteration in the action adventure series made by Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix, might be a cross-generation experience, meaning it will debut on PC, PS4, Xbox One, as well as PS3 and Xbox 360, at least according to listings from different retailers.

Rise of the Tomb Raider was revealed to the world last week at Microsoft's E3 2014 press conference, with Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix showing off a cinematic trailer that hints at the turmoil in Lara Croft's mind after the events of last year's Tomb Raider.

No exact platforms have been confirmed, but it is safe to say that it's going to appear on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

However, according to listings from Amazon UK as well as from the Xbox website, it seems that Rise of the Tomb Raider will also debut on PS3 and Xbox 360.

As such, it's possible that Crystal Dynamics will keep its existing game engine for the last-gen consoles while using the updated one seen in Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, which appeared at the beginning of the year.

As of yet, however, neither Crystal Dynamics nor Square Enix has commented.
