Following the latest reports in Spanish media after the European SuperCup, Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard assured the Catalan fans that he and Ronaldinho did not get into any fight after the 3-0 loss to Seville. As Spanish media tried to suggest earlier last week, Rijkaard was believed to have punished the Brazilian star because of his poor performance in the game. Therefore, only 3 days later, Ronaldinho did not play in the Primera Liga opener, at Celta Vigo.

"It is an absolute lie that I've
got upset with Ronaldinho or punished him. It is a pure invention of the mass media. Nothing has happened between Ronaldinho and I. This is only a story in the mass media", said Rijkaard on Saturday.

Although the official reason for Ronaldinho's missing the Spanish opener was a superficial leg injury, the Spanish newspapers went far enough and warned that this argument between coach & player could relate to Ronaldinho's leaving Barcelona for Milan. Still, the Dutchman assured the Catalans that the Brazilian will not leave Camp Nou any time soon.

"I live in another country. I do not know what is being said in Italy. It seems to me that Ronaldinho is happy in Barcelona, but the future will come and nobody knows what is going to happen within the next years. At the moment, I believe Ronaldinho does not have any interest in leaving Barcelona, which I celebrate because he is a fundemental piece of this team", concluded Rijkaard.

As for Milan, the Italian club also denied all allegations about bidding for the Brazilian. Moreover, the Milanese officials laughed when hearing the question: "Will Ronaldinho play for AC Milan?". "You have got to be kidding me", admitted Adriano Galliani, the team's suspended sporting director.
