Until not long ago, they were believed to be friends but, it turns out, it takes only so little to turn against each other. Singers Rihanna and Ciara engaged in a rather nasty exchange of words on Twitter, starting from a comment the latter made.
Ciara was on E! Online’s Fashion Police with Joan Rivers and Kelly Osbourne, where the topic up for discussion was Rihanna’s insanely colorful Dior dress she wore at the Brit Awards recently.
Ciara said she’d always respected Rihanna for her fashion sense and, in particular, for the risks she takes when it comes to the red carpet, but as a person, she’s not always the most pleasant girl to be around.
“I ran into her recently at a party. She wasn’t the nicest. It’s crazy, because I’ve always loved and respected what she’s done in fashion. It wasn’t the most pleasant run-in,” Ciara said.
As expected, these words got back to Rihanna and she wasn’t happy at all to have her named mentioned in such a fashion – though, to Ciara’s credit, she doesn’t say what RiRi did to her.
So, Rihanna took to Twitter to blast Ciara, asking her if per chance she forgot to tip her at that party.
“My bad Ci, did I forget to tip you? How rude of me....You gangsta huh? Ha,” she tweeted. Ciara retaliated with “Trust me Rihanna you don’t want to see me on or off the stage.”
To this, Rihanna tweeted back suggesting that Ciara was probably not even able to book a stage, let alone fill a venue. Ciara only replied with “Pure comedy.”
Eventually, gossip blogger Perez Hilton (whom E! dubs the “greatest diva of all times”) chimed in on the feud. Whether because of his intervention or because the two singers saw none was in the right, they eventually reconciled – also on Twitter.
“Ciara baby, I love you girl! You hurt my feelings real bad on TV! I’m heartbroken! That’s why I retaliated this way! So sorry! Let’s make up,” Rihanna wrote by means of an apology.
“Ri, u know its always been love since day 1! Doing shows and everything. You threw me off in that party! Apology accepted. Let’s chat in person,” wrote back in response.
