Rihanna was the unofficial winner of the World Cup 2014 because not only did she get to attend all the matches, but she also partied with the football stars and with her friends and won over the Internet with her scandalous Twitter photos.

As it turns out, her love of football wasn’t just a temporary thing because she’s actually thinking of buying a club in the UK, reports in the local media cited by the Daily Mail claim.

From pop star to fashion designer to fashionista and beauty icon to… football club owner. Hey, if there’s anyone who can wear so many hats, that’s got to be Rihanna, right?

The Mail says that the Barbadian singer is working towards setting up a soccer academy in her home country, so she feels like she has enough experience (because she’s not lacking financial backing, that much is certain) to buy her own club.

“At first we thought Rihanna's desire to be involved with soccer on a business level would soon blow over. We figured she was still on a high from the World Cup,” an insider reveals for the tab.

“But now it's becoming clear she really is serious. She's talking about setting up a football academy in her native Barbados. Then her big dream is to be involved with a UK club. Britain is like a second home to her, although she's also hinted she may do something with an LA team,” the source says.

Nothing is set in stone for the time being, but no doubt about it, most of what Rihanna touches tends to turn into gold, so this endeavor too might prove immensely successful.

Right now, Rihanna’s estimated worth is of $120 million (€89.6 million) and she is one of the most popular celebrities of recent years. She got started in music as Jay Z’s protégée but, in time, she branched out into other areas of interest as well.

Rihanna’s most recent accomplishments, other than that of undisputed queen of social media, include designing her own clothes and accessories line, launching various fragrances, and establishing herself into the “it celebrity girl” for designers. This way, she’s become the woman to go to for endorsements in both beauty and fashion, with each deal making her richer.

RiRi has also tried her hand at acting but that’s the one thing where she didn’t really shine. Her role in “Battleship” was universally ridiculed by fans and critics alike so, even though she was planning at the time a break from music to pursue a career in film, she eventually let those dreams die a natural and slow death.

Let’s just hope that, if she does buy a football club, she will fare better than she has as a movie actress.
