14 DAY TRIAL // Rihanna has joined the long list of celebrities to enjoy unwanted and unsolicited attention from an obsessed fan. He broke into her home (or what he thought was her home) last week and she now has a restraining order against him, it has emerged.
The singer was not at home when the man broke in but that doesn’t change the fact that he poses a danger to her.
In fact, TMZ reports, this is what she put down in court documents asking for the restraining order: that she feared for her safety.
“Rihanna just got a restraining order against an obsessed fan who tried to break into her house. Steveland Barrow was arrested last Thursday after breaking into the home of Rihanna's neighbor,” the celebrity publication reports.
“Cops tell us... Barrow thought the home he entered was Rihanna's. He told cops he was invited in... he allegedly slept in the bed he thought was Rihanna's and stole property,” TMZ further says.
Barrow is now prohibited from coming within 100 yards of Rihanna, thanks to the temporary restraining order, which the judge can make permanent if he deems it necessary.
However, the bad news is that Barrow is no longer in custody – and no one seems to know his whereabouts.
“Here's what's ominous: according to Rihanna's lawyer, Barrow has been released from custody and is nowhere to be found,” TMZ writes.
In the meantime, Rihanna is on vacation. She spent her birthday with Chris Brown, her on-and-off boyfriend for some time, but he flew back to LA to be at one of the Oscars 2013 parties last weekend.
While talking to reporters on the red carpet at Elton John’s Oscar bash, Chris told them that all was good again between Rihanna and himself after the 2009 assault.
“Sometimes you row, you fight, with the one you love and things get said, stuff spirals. That night was the deepest regret of my life, the biggest mistake. But she loves me – what can I say? I’m forgiven… but, yes, I worked hard for it,” he said, as we also reported the other day.
