A new report from a security firm on the most prevalent scams currently making the rounds on Facebook shows that scammers are more successful with other lures than the promise of viewing adult material featuring Rihanna.

Bitdefender telemetry systems have revealed that the most spread scam is the one claiming to offer the potential victim a tool to view anyone who visited their social networking profile.

Translated into percentages, this deceit accounts for a huge 30.2% slice, in the United States, the UK and Australia.

The second most used lure on Facebook is the one promising a method for changing the color of Facebook profile, occurring in 7.38% of cases recorded in the same three countries.

The Rihanna deceit is currently in third place, according to Bitdefender statistics, with 4.76%.

A similar bait was purported by the crooks a while ago, but the main actress was Taylor Swift. The singer appears to no longer present interest as she did not make it in Bitdefender’s top 10 Facebook scams.

The list of baiting text also includes the promise of a free Facebook T-shirt for checking a particular status update, offer news about the social networking site changing its blue color or a tool that verifies if a friend removed the victim’s profile.
