14 DAY TRIAL // Now that Robert Pattinson is a single man, having ended his 3+-year romance with Kristen Stewart after she cheated on him, various showbiz belles are eager to hang out with him. Rihanna is just one of the many, it has emerged.
A new report in the US glossies (cited by The Huffington Post) claims that the pop singer has been dying to hook up with the “Twilight” star, bombarding him with flirty texts to get him to go out with her.
They got acquainted properly just recently but Rihanna was instantly won over by Robert's charm and good looks – not that anyone would blame her, come to think of it.
After getting his number, she started texting him on a regular basis. Rob sometimes replies in the same flirty, playful manner but he's yet to give in to her.
“They’ve met several times at award bashes over the years. RiRi thinks he’s very cute, but nothing ever came of it because he was attached to Kristen – and it’s not her style to steal someone else’s man,” a source close to the singer tells the tabs.
“She got Rob’s phone number from a mutual friend and has been sending him [flirty], funny texts to cheer him up,” adds the insider.
Clearly, she's not making her move yet because she understands he must be going through hell right now, with Kristen breaking his heart and then humiliating him publicly.
“At first, Rob thought someone Punk’d him. Eventually Rihanna convinced him she was for real, but Rob has been resisting her,” the insider goes on to say.
However, with his friends telling him that he needs to “start enjoying life again,” it's probably only a question of time before Pattinson succumbs to Rihanna's advances, word in the blogosphere has it.
As we also noted a few days ago, Robert picked Rihanna as his favorite for this year's MTV Video Music Awards, which takes place in the first week of September.
