Clearly, the deepest and most disturbing video she's ever put out

Rihanna got a lot of negative media attention whilst shooting for her latest video, for “We Found Love,” but its release should prove that it’s all been worth it. It’s definitely the deepest, most meaningful video she’s ever put out.

“It’s like you're screaming but no one can hear. You almost feel ashamed that someone could be that important, that without them, you feel like nothing. No one will ever understand how much it hurts,” a narrator says before the video starts.

It deals with the theme of an abusive relationship: abuse of drugs, of alcohol, of each other. It even features a guy of whom many voices online are saying he looks very much like Chris Brown, though that’s highly debatable.

However, all of this is handled with care, in a style that reminds of cinematographic masterpieces “Requiem for a Dream” and “Trainspotting,” but that takes nothing of the impact of the message.

Rihanna says she wanted to make a strong video, one that would not go by unnoticed. She’s done just that.
