The scandal between Rihanna and her ex-accountant has just been dropped, together with the lawsuit she filed against him, in which she alleged that she received bad advice from him that nearly caused her to go bankrupt in 2009.

Page Six says that the lawsuit in which Peter Gounis, an accountant with Berdon LLP, is being accused of mismanagement of Rihanna's fortune, has been dropped from court. In the lawsuit, Rihanna alleged that Gounis was in the wrong when he gave her the green light to buy a seven million dollar home, despite the fact that she was bleeding cash at the time.

The accountant's lawyers fired back saying that it wasn't Gounis' fault the singer was close to declaring bankruptcy, but her own “outrageous spending” and the fact that her 2010 tour called “Last Girl on Earth” went bust and underperformed from a financial standpoint in a big way.

“The tour did not make as much money as projected,” Gounis' legal team said in court, revealing the reality behind Rihanna's glamorous life style.

“The tour was what she wanted, just as the exorbitant amount of expensive clothing and other purchases she squandered her money on were…At the end of her two-year spending spree she had rooms of shoes, clothing and jewelry and fond, if not hazy, memories of extravagant parties, but little cash.”

The lawyers for the accountant asked the judge to throw the case out of court before its May trail, based on the information they presented, but the matter seems to have resolved itself by the time the judge could make a ruling.

The two sides have now come to an agreement it seems, since Rihanna has agreed to drop the lawsuit. When prompted on the terms of the settlement, both parties denied to make any comment, so it's unclear which side caved.

Last month, Gounis opened up to the press and spoke bitterly about his experiences with the Bahan beauty, “Was it really necessary to tell her that if you spend money for things you will end up with the things, and not the money?”

The accountant also denies ever giving advice to the singer about purchasing real estate, claiming that it was never his place to coach her on such matters. Lucky for Rihanna, she's sprung back since, financially speaking.

At the moment, she is rumored to be worth $90 million (€65.3 million) due to her successful albums, but also from promoting her own clothing and beauty products, as well as from endorsement deal. Most likely, she's also cut down on the outrageous spending and she's put more thought into saving her money.
