Rihanna takes to Twitter to blast man advocating “managed anorexia” as a lifestyle

There’s a trend on Twitter that’s seeing a boost in popularity these days, especially with girls and women looking for what is also known as “thinspiration.” A Kenneth Tong from the UK boasts of promoting “managed anorexia” – and Rihanna has just put him in his place.

Tong describes himself as a former television star who loves to shop and who has discovered that Kate Moss’ words from an older interview – “nothing tastes as good as skinny feels” – are completely true.

In his tweets, he’s telling women to stop hiding behind the term “curvy” when they’re using it to deny the harsh reality that they’re simply fat and self-loathing.

Celebrities like Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez are “acquired tastes,” he says, but identifying with them is criminal on part of the regular woman.

The other day, he name-dropped Rihanna, saying he was more popular than her on Twitter and that this would perhaps make her get behind his Size Zero campaign.

“Worldwide Trending & I am more popular than @Rihanna according to Polls, perhaps she could use my Size Zero Pills?” Tong tweeted. “The beginning is always today. Managed anorexia is a lifestyle, not a diet,” he added.

Rihanna learned that Tong had used her name and replied telling her female fans and followers that they shouldn’t believe what he’s been telling them: beauty knows no size.

“This is exactly why girls are doing everything to destroy their bodies!!! Girls are dying all over the world because of ignorant individuals like this@MrKennethTong,” she wrote.

She also included a direct message to all women, saying acceptance and love are more important than size. Plus, beauty doesn’t mean having to fit some standards, but rather being yourself.

“Young ladies, love yourself! Your skin, your booty, your hair... You’re all beautiful! Keep your hearts pure! Love and laugh, and live life,” the singer wrote on her Twitter.

Mr. Tong would not let it slide, though, so he returned to Twitter to respond to Rihanna, saying she didn’t say more on the topic because she knows he’s right in everything he’s preaching.

“A pop star chose to tell the world everyone is beautiful because of my Tweets, to be beautiful in your own way is to be ugly in every other,” he wrote.
