I don't know about you, but I have a feeling something is going on inside alien princess Rihanna's mind - something big. It may be a virus of sorts, or a recessive kinky alien gene that's just starting to kick in, otherwise I can't explain why her love of racy S&M outfits seems to be growing instead of shrinking and dying. Now, don't get me wrong - I'm not complaining or anything - but I do confess myself a little confused. I mean, Rihanna is one of those young singers (she only recently turned 20) who successfully managed to make that tricky leap between demure little miss goody-goody and international sex symbol. I know it may sound easy - don a couple of sexy outfits, start making subtle sexual allusions via your lyrics, get a boyfriend, the whole work-up - but as you very well know, some very successful singers never made it past their teenage fame. Think Britney Spears and the fact that her passage to so-called maturity basically ended her career.

Now, back to Rihanna. As you can see for yourselves if you have a closer look at these photos, this girl really loves to play dress-up. I mean, really. She once confessed to harboring a secret passion for donning racy stage outfits, but I also think that between "sexy" and "PVC-clad dominatrix" there's quite a lot of distance. But what does this whole (literally) "dress to kill" mania mean? As I said, it's all very confusing. Is Rihanna trying to tell us something? Is this her way of letting her own personality shine through the perfectly glamorous image that her PR team has put together for the young Barbados native? I suppose when there's someone by your side every minute telling you
what to wear, what to say and what to do, it's pretty hard to hold on to your true self. So maybe excesses are her way of making her voice heard.
Either that, or she simply has a taste for bad dominatrix-style clothes. But she should at least be careful and change her leather and PVC wardrobe once in a while. I think she must have worn those tranny thigh-high boots at least half a dozen times before, and they felt just as inappropriate every time. And what's with the "legs open, don't give a crap about what the world thinks" attitude? I mean, I'm all for stage emancipation and things like that, but still - I think she's overdoing it, just a little bit. There is another possibility - she may be doing it to impress her new man Chris Brown. You know, he's already younger than her, maybe she's going the "older, more experienced woman" route - who knows? What do you think?
