From the director of “Prometheus” and “Exodus,” another epic movie in on the way, but this time focused on a morality tale. Ridley Scott is planning on creating a movie that revolves around the debilitating effects that concussions have on football players.

Football is a subject that everyone discuses, either from a technical point of view or a financial one, but very few take into consideration the effect that football injuries have on the players: they might not be seen right away, but they can have horrific consequences in the future.

Scott is planning on exposing the difficulties players face in their careers and the persons that most profit from the result. Ridley is a big football fan, according to Deadline, and has been impressed by the stories of players who ruined their lives after a debilitating injury. Former NFL stars like Junior Seau or Dave Duerson even committed suicide after suffering a traumatic injury.

Football has “become harder to enjoy, knowing that so many of the stars I grew up admiring are faring terribly in retirement after having put their bodies and brains on the line,” Scott tells Deadline.

The effects that concussions have on NFL players have been in the attention of the media for only a small period of time, but parents have already taken action to protect their children from dangerous sports.

Some may argue that players know what they are facing when venturing into a football game, and they do; the part that they aren't aware of is the aftermath of a debilitating injury, and that is on what Ridely Scott is trying to shed some light with this movie.

Scott is trying to create something similar to Michael Mann's “The Insider,” where he can expose the two sides of the story, the players and the owners, the ones who risk everything and the ones who profit from the health risks taken by the other side.
