Read on and be amazed

I've always been a fan of tight security and I always say that the best modules need to be set up in order to keep things safe, but what I've seen is downright stupid! I was searching the Web for a press release when I accidentally bumped into this. Please click that link, otherwise it will be very hard for you to understand the rest of my article. It's all about bizarre CAPTCHA. I can't believe how a web designer or webmaster or whatever could ever come up with such stupid tests. This is unbelievable!

The CAPTCHA on those sites is not possible to read, or if it is, then you can't spell it, because of all the signs it contains, and that most people don't know how to type. It's a great thing to have top notch security, and CAPTCHA is pretty good, even though it can get bypassed in some cases. But how do you expect users to sign up if they can't decipher what in blazes is written in that box. I've looked really hard but couldn't tell what characters those were; I thought that my sight wasn't to good, so I asked a colleague to take a look. He couldn't tell either. I don't get it - what's the use of this? I don't think any normal human can pass the test. Maybe if you hacked the site then you could find out what is written in those distorted images.

The examples posted on the site I linked above vary from simple spots, to Braille and even some psychedelic or tribal (couldn't tell) drawing. In any case, if you haven't clicked it yet, be my guest and visit the webpage, the ridicule of these security measures might just make you laugh. Also, if you are able to decipher what is written in any of those (except for two of them that are just obscene, but easy to read) and can spell it too, then you have my honest congratulations.
