Video game publisher Namco Bandai has announced that the soundtrack for the upcoming Ridge Racer Unbounded racing game will get a deep bass dominated soundtrack that will feature some of the best music to enter the mainstream during the last six months.

The headliner for the soundtrack will be Skrillex, the dubstep producer who has managed to win a Grammy Award for his work and has taken the dance music scene by storm.

He will contribute two of his best known tracks: “Kill Everybody” and “Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites.”

Other notable additions to the musical line-up of Ridge Racer Unbounded include The Crystal Method, an electronica duo which has launched a string of dance floor hits in the United States, and the drum and bass team of Noisia & The Upbeats.

The game will also feature tracks from the Scratch Perverts, Unknown Error, OVERSEER and RuN RiOT and Ever Never.

A game with such a long history as Ridge Racer Unbounded cannot simply rely on modern music to carry the day and the development team at Bugbear has also chosen the most expressive tracks in the 18 years that Ridge Racer has been created.

Music director Hiroshi Okubo has also worked with his team at Namco Bandai in Japan to create a number of original tracks for the new title.

The entire soundtrack of the game is designed to complement the action-packed gameplay mechanics of the title and increase the gamer’s adrenaline level.

Ridge Racer Unbounded is set to use the same arcade handling and powerful drift focus that has defined the series while also introducing collisions as a core mechanic.

Gamers will be able to choose from a range of muscle cars, some of them classic and some modern, in order to complete in-game races and a new City Creator is offered to those who plan to make their own tracks and then share them with the community.
