In the United Kingdom

After a brief period of shaking up earlier during spring, with the release of titles like Street Fighter IV and Resident Evil 5, both from Capcom, the videogame charts from the United Kingdom seem to be returning to the rather monotonous image of a total Wii Fit domination.

Considering that no blockbuster releases are planned for the coming period, we'd better get used to seeing the Nintendo fitness game stay at the top of the chart for quite some time.

During the last week, Wii Fit stood at number one again while its biggest challenger changed. Until now, The Godfather II from Electronic Arts held second place and kept threatening Wii Fit; well, that role was taken by The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena from Atari, which packs the original Escape from Butcher Bay with all new content while keeping the game mechanics and updating the graphics. It remains to be seen whether the videogame has staying power in the next few weeks.

Because of the new entry at number two, FIFA 09 from EA Sports dropped one place to number four, while Resident Evil 5 held fifth place, not budging one place up or down.

It's interesting to see that the following five places are also unchanged from last week. The run down goes like this: Professor Layton and the Curious Village from Nintendo, Mario Kart Wii, Wii Play, Call of Duty: World at War from Activision and, finally, Carnival: Funfair Games, from 2K.

The biggest drop seen is that of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games from SEGA, which exited the top ten from number four last week. Other new entries in the top twenty were My Fitness Coach from Games for Everyone and SEGA Mega Drive: Ultimate Collection.
