Ricoh, the company that recently acquired all shares from Pentax Imaging Corp., has just made available more firmware versions targeted at its K series DSLR cameras.

To be clearer, after version 1.05 developed for the K-5II and K-5IIs devices, Ricoh has outed versions 1.01 for its K-50 and K-500, 1.04 for the K-01 camera, and 1.05 for the K-30 unit.

In addition to that, versions 1.14, 1.15, and 1.31, compatible with the K-R, K-5, and 645D DSLR devices, respectively, have been also released.

The changes made in these new versions are the same as for the K-5II and K-5IIs, namely stability improvements for increased performance, and optimized AF contrast for HD PENTAX-DA Limited Edition lenses.

As for installing the firmware, download the camera-related package, copy the firmware file from within the archive onto a formatted memory card, insert it into the camera, and turn on the camera while pressing the “Menu” button.

At this point, you should see a “Now Loading” message, and a “Program Update” one afterwards; confirm that you agree with the update, and wait patiently for the upgrade to complete.

Now that you have taken into account all the important aspects, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your camera, apply the latest firmware, and improve your device.
