Ricoh, a Japanese camera and optics manufacturer and owner of the Pentax brand, announced today the availability of a new major update for its GR compact camera.

The new GR firmware v3.0 comes with quite a few new options for the camera's menu, including fresh features and shutter speed tweaks. The build adds a Slight effect in the camera's shooting menu, but also an AFL Focus setting in the Key Custom options menu.

If you update your current firmware to the latest version, you will also spot two new options in the Setup menu, namely Ambient Brightness and Folder Name Setting.

In addition to that, if you set ISO Step Setting to 1/3EV, your shutter speed will now be set in increments of 1/3 steps. The Playback menu also comes with a new parameter (Aspect Ratio) for the RAW Development option.

Released last year, Ricoh's GR compact camera has been very well received by the market, thanks to its impressive level of sharpness throughout the whole frame, lightweight body, and outstanding AF system.

If you want to take advantage of the latest additions you can download Ricoh GR Digital Camera Firmware 3.0 right away from our website.
