Ricky Martin can be called a football fan. He's going to be praying heart and soul for the Mexican team to win against hosting team Brazil in the World Football Cup match that is going to take place this summer. The “Living La Vida Loca” singer is ready to do his part and has promised a free concert if his team wins.

Martin is a known football fan, and it looks like he's also willing to participate in Mexico's win against Brazil on their match on June 17. And just to show that he's not messing about and making empty promises, Martin has put his promise in writing.

On his personal Twitter page he wrote to fans that “If Mexico Win In Brazil I'll Put On A Free Concert In Mexico.” Obviously, fans were delighted by the news and the prospect that if their country wins in the football game, they will also be treated to a free Ricky Martin concert.

Of course, there were the detractors that called Ricky Martin out for being a fraud and making empty promises, because he knows that the chances of Mexico winning against Brazil, one of the strongest football teams in the world which will also be having the advantage of playing on their home turf, are very slim.

But, in football all is fair game once the referee blows his whistle, and there have been many surprises along the years. Mexico and Brazil are both part of the same group which also features Cameroon and Croatia and is widely regarded as one of the toughest groups in the 2014 World Cup.

Showcasing his great love for the sport of football, Ricky Martin is also performing a song especially written for the World Cup, called “Vida.” This isn't his first sporting anthem, as in 1998 he also sang “The Cup of Life / La Copa de la Vida” for that year's championship.

It went on to become one of the most loved songs of the year and also one that remained in football history. Naturally, all this fame didn't hurt Martin's career at all, and he went on to become one of the best Latin acts in the world.

His new World Cup song, “Vida” which was premiered on April 22, is going to be included on the official FIFA World Cup album “One Love, One Rhythm.” Among the other songs featured on the album as Pitbull's song with Jennifer Lopez called “We Are One (Ole Ola),” Santana's collaboration with Wyclef Jean, Avicii, and Alexandre Pires called “Dar Um Jeito (We Will Find a Way)” and Shakira's “La La La (Brazil 2014)” hit.
