While some may not like Ricky Martin’s music, others take offense even with aspects of his personal life, his orientation in particular. Self-proclaimed apostle Wanda Rolón, for one, believes he’s “Hell’s ambassador” and is not afraid to shout it to the four winds.

This is not the first time that Martin’s life incites protests among religious fanatics, but it’s officially a first in terms of branding him Satan’s emissary on earth.

The Huffington Post reports that, right before one of Ricky’s recent concerts in Puerto Rico, there was a major brouhaha about how his music and example were the doings of Satan, which culminated with a live protest outside the venue where he was performing.

And that’s not all, either. Rolón also took to her Facebook page to vent against Martin, hoping to get others to see things her way.

She’s deleted the post in the meantime, the aforementioned e-zine reports.

“This weekend Puerto Rico receives a man saved and brought from hell to the light, Nicky Cruz, while another one pretends to drag us all to hell,” Rolón wrote.

“RM [Ricky Martin] has been proclaimed its ambassador (hell’s, that is). Puerto Rico wake up, everyone praise the lord. This is the island of the Lamb. Alert God,” she added.

Martin fans reacted to the hateful message, forcing Rolón to delete it shortly after she published it. Still, she and several other religious fanatics still came to protest outside the venue.

As noted above, this is not the first time that Martin’s life incites protests: a while back, as one of Eurovision’s affiliates was getting ready to air a documentary also including some tidbits about his love life, a conservative church in Miami sprung to action.

According to the representatives of said church, Ricky Martin was presented as a “role model” in the documentary and being gay made him anything but that.

“Univision’s complicity in transmitting this message deserves, on our side, our complaints before the FCC – the entity that regulates media in the Unites States – which says that any indecent or obscene content can be reported as a complaint,” a statement from the church said, as we also reported at the time.
