Comedian Ricky Gervais is no fan on hunting, so it should not come as a surprise that he is now trying to convince people to either support or take part in the so-called Global March for Lions that is scheduled to take place this coming March 15.

As detailed on the official Facebook page for this event, the Global March for Lions is intended to protest a practice known as canned hunting.

Canned hunting boils down to raising animals in captivity and then released them within an enclosed area where they have absolutely no change to escape hunters, Ecorazzi says.

Marches intended to raise awareness about this practice will take place on March 15 in several cities around the world, but the event's organizers say that those who wish to organize a protest in the area where they live are more than welcomed to do so.

It's not yet clear whether or not Ricky Gervais will take part in one such march, but, given the message that he sent his Twitter followers (i.e. “15 MARCH #GlobalMarchForLions When the world will Roar against #cannedhunting) odds are he will.
