Rhythmbox 3.2 has been released today, March 29. This is the second maintenance release since Rhythmbox 3.0 was announced and it brings several new features, but also fixes those annoying bugs that you’ve reported since the last stable release of the software, version 3.1, which is still used as the default music player in many popular distributions, such as Ubuntu.

Highlights of Rhythmbox 3.2 include a plugin to support the popular Soundcloud online audio distribution platform, support for disc and track total count/tags, several layout and style improvements, better support for the Mac OS X operating system, Vorbis aliases added as supported mime-types, the ability to re-fetch, clear, and manually set the cover art for a track via the song information window, and an easy way to unselect the browse by Genre, Artist, Album option.

As mentioned, numerous bugs have been fixed in Rhythmbox 3.2, such as an issue with import of MP3 files that have ID3 v2.4 tags generated by PicardQT, an issue when right clicking on any file in “Tracks list,” an issue with songs that were still playing after reading the playlist, an issue that made the app skip one or two songs after playing various songs, as well as an issue with tracks that have no embedded cover art.

More bugs have been squashed and numerous translations updated

In addition to the above, the symbolic icon has been repaired, duplicated symbol _rb_metadata_iface_xml options has been removed, support for Trivial Database (tbd) 1.3 has been added, an issue with the "in" string used for translations has been fixed, a configure warning issue with 'INCLUDES' has been repaired, and a crash that occurred when right clicking the track list in the library has been addressed.

Last but not least, numerous language translations have been updated in Rhythmbox 3.2, among which we can mention Bosnian, Catalan, Czech, Gaelic, Spanish, Finnish, Hungarian, Indian, Italian, Kazakh, Lithuanian, Norwegian bokmal, Danish, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Slovak, Slovenian, Serbian, Serbian Latin, Swedish, Turkish, Vietnamese, and Chinese (Taiwan).
