When the writer was hired the narrative arc was barely sketched

Rhianna Pratchett, who is currently working on the core narrative for the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot, has revealed how she has shaped up the story since she became a part of the team at Ubisoft.

Talking to VG247, she stated that, “There was a story arc there that sort of got shuffled around the studio over the two and a half years I was working on the game. There was no script in place, but there was a story arc and levels that had been planned.”

She added, “But there were some characters in place, such as Lara and Roth in particular, as well as others that just existed visually and had no character yet. They were built and designed throughout the process of the game.”

Pratchett has since then created a 90-page scrip, the equivalent to that of a movie, which deals with the cut scenes in the new Tomb Raider and has also worked on the way Lara Croft interacts with characters in other instances.
