Rhianna Pratchett, one of the best known writers in the video game industry, says that she and her father would be interested in creating a new video game based on the Discworld universe as long as they could work with the right development team.

The writer tells DigitalSpy that, “The original games I remember them very fondly. Every now and again, dad gets approached about a game. Dad is a gamer himself so he has an idea what he’d like to see, and we’ve just not got the right developer with the right pitch come knocking yet.”

Rhianna Pratchett has recently worked on the scripts for the rebooted Tomb Raider and the original IP Mirror’s Edge.

She has also suggested that a Discworld game would attract a very passionate fan base, which might mean that a determined studio could turn to Kickstarter in order to use the power of the crowds to fund it.
