The global leader in digital media delivery, Real Networks and world's largest handset manufacturer Nokia have announced that users in the US can now enjoy mobile access to Rhapsody, an award winning digital music service.

The service will be available through the Nokia N800 Internet Tablet, allowing users to rapidly access Rhapsody's 3 million songs provided they have a WiFi connection. N800 owners will be able to get the service starting today, by downloading a free software update accessible either from the device's menu or from the manufacturer's website.

Aside from allowing music playback, the update will also enable users to customize Rhapsody playlists, stream hundreds of Internet radio channels or browse music editorial and album reviews.

'Giving consumers direct access to Rhapsody via their wireless Nokia N800 Internet Tablet gives new meaning to music on the go,' said Bill Plummer, Vice President, Sales & Channel Management, Multimedia, Nokia North America. 'Our goal at Nokia is to make the Nokia N800 the ultimate portable Internet entertainment device, giving consumers the convenience of easy wireless access to their favorite online services beyond the confines of home.'

The Linux-based Nokia N800 Internet tablet was designed for a more convenient Internet browsing experience, allowing users to enjoy streamed and downloaded content while on the go, meaning that it should be one of the most appropriate devices to use for the Rhapsody service. Moreover, it comes with a 4.13 inch high-res display, built-in stereo speakers, an integrated web camera and an intuitive user interface, offering its users plenty of exciting features. The handset is available in the US for $399 and can be purchased from Nokia Flagship stores or other select retail outlets.
