The LCM pickguard - sworn to better shield your axe

I must be true to you and say that I was quite amazed when I first saw the new pickguard concept released by AxeGuardz. What struck me most was the simple fact that even in this very narrow field (pickguards have never meant too much of an innovation-friendly area) revolutionary things and ideas found place, especially after such a long period of complete lack of dynamism.

Actually, more than 50 years have passed by without pickguards ever changing anything but shape, materials, colors or thickness. I (besides being a guitarist myself) really am glad to notice such serious improvement in the guitar world! So, what's on in the AxeGuardz labs?

The new and revolutionary pickguard has gotten a very serious purpose: better shielding for the electric and electronic parts inside the guitar body. So far most pickguards were made of plastic or metal; the new piece comes in a 3-ply, 3mm thick array of aluminium and polyethelyne layers.

The sandwich texture has 2 0.12" aluminium sheets covered in heat-cured coating that will prevent moisture and usual scratches from damaging the metal surface. Between these 2 aluminium foils a thicker layer of special plastic has been heat-bonded so the whole thing will stay in one piece "until kingdom come".

So far, AxeGuardz offer this new technology as an upgrade for Stratocaster and Telecaster-type guitars only but I am quite sure that as soon players start to see the new LCM pickguards on someone else's axes the new tech will simply boom.

The precision CNC machining ensures a perfect fit on the specced guitars and leading pickup manufacturer Seymour Duncan has tested and approved the new technology and even more, they've designated AxeGuardz as a OEM Dealer, which is one truly respectable achievement.

You can choose between some very attractive 5 colors for your new, hi-tech pickguard. Further info on AxeGuards and the patent-pending technology you can find here.
