We all know that DAB radio (DAB stands for digital audio broadcasting) has never really enjoyed such a high level of success, apart from several regions around the world (Korea and UK, in particular). However, it would seem that British companies are keen on pumping new DAB receivers on the market, and that's also the case with Revo, which has just unveiled the PICO RadioStation, touted to be the world's first hybrid DAB/DAB+ and internet radio receiver.

The device from Revo features full DAB and DAB+ digital radio reception, FM radio coverage with RDS, Wi-Fi internet radio (easy access to over 11,000 stations from around the world), wireless MP3 media streaming from PC or Mac, and the ability to serve as a portable sound system for any MP3 player.

Additionally, it's also quite important to point out the fact that the PICO is quite a rare product, since it's just one of the two models ready to receive next-generation DAB+ broadcasts without the necessity for paid-for software upgrades or downloads (the other being the BLIK RadioStation mentioned earlier).

Furthermore, since it has a splashproof construction and 12 hour lithium-ion rechargeable battery, the PICO RadioStation can be used in just about any conditions, regardless of location. Of course, you shouldn't go as far as pushing it into the pool, but chances are that you can listen to the Pico anywhere (where there's a strong WiFi signal available as well, otherwise you'll have to stick to FM and DAB).

PICO RadioStation will be available through Revo's usual retail channels starting from mid-September and will sell for an estimate 170 pounds sterling (317 US dollars), which is a pretty steep price, but rather explainable by the fact that, after all, this thing targets a rather small "slice" of the global consumer electronics market.
