Revamped Tetris Coming to XBLM!

This week's Xbox Live Marketplace update brings Tetris Splash!, a revamped version of the all time classic, featuring brand new variants, state-of-the-art visuals, multiplayer, "beautiful aquatic playscapes," achievements and more. The game is set to for launch tomorrow morning, going for a mere 800 MS Points (around $10). Generally, XBLM content is free of charge, but when full, revamped versions of classic titles make their way into the service, so the situation is different.

It's well known that the Wii's Shop Channel adds more classic titles every week than the Xbox 360's XBLM and the PS3's PSN put together. However, when XBLM fans get up on Wednesday morning to see what's new (not that we don't make sure they know a day early exactly what they're getting), they have the luxury of downloading and playing older titles that have been revamped to fit the next-gen definition (that... didn't sound right).

Basic gameplay features look something like this:

Modes of play: Three different modes of play including Tetris, T-Spin, and Combo, plus a unique screensaver mode.
Multiplayer: Playable solo, competitively or in teams, with an online multiplayer mode via Xbox LIVE for up to six players.
New twists: New, enhanced graphics, and beautiful aquatic backscapes add a real splash to the fun of Tetris.
Content and themes: Exciting downloadable content will be made available including themes and background aquatic creatures.
Achievements: Twelve new achievements to master and conquer.
