Retrevo, a consumer electronics shopping and review site, has issued new reports shedding more light on customer trends, including the most popular iPhone apps today, and the urge of shopping via a mobile device.

Trying to answer the question, “Are Consumers Warming Up to Shopping On Their Mobile Phones?,” Retrevo says that its latest Pulse Report “looks at how consumers feel about shopping on their mobile phones and how they are reacting to advertising on these devices.” According to Retrevo, “The good news for merchants is that consumers appear to be warming up to researching and shopping with their mobile phones. The bad news is that many consumers appear to be turned off and are tuning out mobile ads,” it reveals. A breakdown by age and other factors is provided on the Retrevo blog here.

Looking at iPhone (App Store) content in particular, Retrevo decided to point out six of the best new iPhone applications, by its own standards. “Amid all the hoopla over the Apple iPad announcement we didn’t want anyone to forget about the good old iPhone and iPod touch so we thought we'd highlight a few of our favorite new iPhone apps that were released or updated this month.”

The apps are SlingPlayer Mobile, Plants vs. Zombies, GT Racing: Motor Academy, New Version of Bejeweled, Martha’s Everyday Food: Fresh & Easy, and Trusight Pro. Talking about the last one in particular, Retrevo calls it “a hidden gem” and informs visitors of its site that Trusight Pro has been developed by “a company that claims to have cracked the code used by your eyes and brain to process images. They apply that process in a tool to enhance your photographs. The results are impressive and the app only costs $2.99.” Visit the Retrevo blog here for other reports based on research in the electronics consumer segment.
