Due to a glitch with the phone

Sony Ericsson Satio is one of the flagship mobile phones the Japanese-Swedish handset vendor has released on the market during the ongoing year. The device sports a high-quality photo snapper, a 12-megapixel behemoth able to make a lot of enthusiasts out there happy, yet it seems that there are some issues with the Satio that determined UK retailers to pull it off shelves.

According to a recent article on telegraph.co.uk, two of the largest mobile phone retailers in the country stopped selling the Sony Ericsson Satio after learning that it comes around with a series of glitches. Both Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U are reported to have had a large number of complaints about the phone's problems, thus suspending the sales.

Sony Ericsson has had a series of bad quarters lately, and the launch of Satio was expected to be helpful in its attempt to regain its foothold. However, the issues with the device might affect its sales during the holiday season, something that does not look too good for company. On the other hand, it seems that the issues are software-related and that the handset vendor is already working on providing a fix.

It should also be mentioned that the Sony Ericsson Satio is available for purchase in the UK via a series of carriers, and that they did not report any issues or complained with the operator-specific versions of the phone they sell. Orange and Vodafone have the 12MP behemoth from Sony Ericsson available for their users and those who want to have the device in no time should consider their offering.

According to telegraph.co.uk, Carolina Milanesi, lead mobile phone analyst at Garner, commented the following: “It's a really big blow. Sony Ericsson was counting on the Satio to boost its Christmas sales.” Moreover, the issue with Satio might also impact the performance of upcoming handsets from the company, including its first Android-based phone, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10, which should land on the market in Q1 2010.
