Both the rumors that began to appear during last week and the big information leak that has recently arrived from inside Infinity Ward mentioned that publisher Activision Blizzard was set to launch Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on November 8 this year, and now at least one major source inside a retailer confirms the date.
Speaking to IGN, an industry source that they trust has stated that November 8 is the targeted date for
Modern Warfare 3, with the attached screenshot of a launch poster to be used in stores offered as the ultimate proof.
The poster uses the style of image that has been traditionally used for the Call of Duty series since it was initially created and also offers a hint of how the actual game cover might look when it arrives.
So far, the insider data offered by people working at Infinity Ward, using both game images and voice recordings for characters as basis, suggests that
Modern Warfare 3 will take place just after the end of the second game in the series, with Price and his team again playing a central role as the United States continues to battle a Russian assault and tries to hunt down Makarov.
Leaked single-player story details say that Infinity Ward is also set to introduce new characters, like Frost, a Delta Force operative that assists the team and apparently plays a central role in the hunt, while also offering other points of view on the action, in traditional Modern Warfare style.
Activision Blizzard has not commented on all the leaked information, but the publisher has released four small trailers for
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, with information on them suggesting that the details offered by insiders are right to some extent.
