Some sort of science determined that the whole internet weighs around two ounces, which is merely a grain of sand. On a different perspective, this can shed some light on its level of complexity.

So with all the possibilities and variety of locations to access, it becomes difficult to track and store all the websites you like, let alone remember. The same can be said about navigating through your computer’s files and folders.

Chances are that a lot of time is wasted with going to the same online and offline location every time you log into Windows. Since there’s always a solution to everything, a little research revealed that not only can you restore last web session, but also file explorer.

Here’s what you need to do to have all locations you need pop up as soon as Windows starts:

Browser configurations

Internet Explorer: Click the gear button in the top right corner and select Internet Options. In the General tab, under the Start-up section, check the option to Start with tabs from the last session.

Opera: Click the Opera button located at the top left corner. From there, hit Settings to bring up configurations. There’s an On startup section (the second on the list) which lets you Continue where you left off.

Mozilla Firefox: Press the Hamburger button in the top right of the main window, and select Options. In the General tab, there’s a line that lets you select what to do When Firefox starts. Choose to Show my windows and tabs from last time in the corresponding drop-down menu.

Google Chrome: In the top right corner, press the Hamburger button and then hit Settings. The second section, On startup, lets you Continue where you left off.

File Explorer configuration

Step 1: Open My Computer or any folder.

Step 2: From the View menu, select Options, or sequentially press Alt, V, Y, O.

Step 3: Switch to the View tab.

Step 4: Check the box to Restore previous folder windows at log-on.

Note: In order for this to properly function, you must not close the folders you want restored when shutting down or logging off.

Making web browsers run on startup

Step 1: Press Win + R to launch the Run utility.

Step 2: Write down shell:startup and hit Enter.

Step 3: Copy the web browser shortcut in the directory that opens.

Step 4: Close the folder so changes take effect.

With all of the above properly configured, next time you log into Windows, all locations you left behind are restored in a matter of seconds, both for offline and online content. To test this out, simply log off and log back in.
