The plot thickens on the ongoing dispute between reality star / model Kendall Jenner and waitress / aspiring actress Blaine Morris. After the latter claimed the former threw money in her face after trying to skip out on the bill at Mercer Kitchen in Manhattan, the owner of the restaurant is confirming her story.

This new development comes after Kendall had her attorney send a letter to Morris warning her that she would be sued for defamation, for saying she had been publicly humiliated by Kendall just to get more publicity.

Morris had previously told the media that the reality star caused a scene when she asked to be served alcohol (and was consequently refused because she’s not of age yet) so, to get her revenge, she tried to skip out on the bill. The waitress had to chase Kendall and her friend down the street to collect the money, which is when the humiliating episode occurred: Kendall threw the money in her face, turned away, and left.

On her part, Kendall insisted that she’d been raised “better than that” and that she would never act this way. Her rep admitted that she’d forgotten to pay the bill, but she “politely” did so when she was reminded and even apologized.

According to the owner of the restaurant, Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, the waitress did not lie. Kendal did.

“It's pretty much what the papers say. They came in for dinner. They asked for drinks. We can't serve anyone under 21; we could lose our liquor license, so we can't do that no matter what. What happened is they walked out on their check. Ms. Morris, who is no longer with us, walked after them and they threw money in her face,” he tells Yahoo! Celebrity.

Morris quit her job that same day because she had been too humiliated to continue there. Even if she had stayed on, she would have been fired the next day, when the story broke in the press because she complained about Kendall’s behavior on Twitter and she was not supposed to talk about the customers on any platform.

She deleted the tweet minutes later but it was already too late, because various media outlets now had confirmation that the incident had happened.

Even though Kendall was the one who caused the scene because she demanded that she be served alcohol and was then upset when she was (justly) turned down, the Chef still wants her to know he’s sorry for what happened. She and her sister and the entire Kardashian family are welcome back at any time.

“We are sorry about the incident but we cannot serve alcohol to a minor, which is the bottom line. I apologize for the waitress going after her, but Ms. Morris was accountable for all the checks to be closed. It's an unfortunate incident. It's too bad. Hopefully they'll forget it and come back,” he says.
