Respawn Entertainment has talked a bit about its future plans and how it wants to continue to support the current Titanfall multiplayer shooter, while also examining possible sequels in order to expand the universe.

Respawn Entertainment was founded by Vince Zampella and Jason West, the duo behind famous studio Infinity Ward, which created the massively successful Call of Duty series.

The new team once again proved its value with Titanfall, the really successful multiplayer first-person shooter that captured the hearts and minds of PC, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 owners after its release this spring.

In terms of future plans, Respawn's COO, Dusty Welch, told CVG that the main goal is to continue evolving the current Titanfall experience by releasing updates and making sure fans are listened to.

"Our focus right now is Titanfall 1, and there's so much more that we want to add to this game. It's the games-as-a-service model that we're currently working under, where we continue to support these games with frequent updates," he said.

"We're releasing a whole new free update that has a new game mode, new content, new features, and we're persistently dropping new content. I think that's rewarding for the customer, but also rewarding for us because it gives us a chance to try more things."

However, Welch also emphasizes that, at some point in time, Respawn will start working on other projects, but it seems that one of the main ones will be a sequel, as the team wants to continue developing the successful franchise it started with the current game.

"At some point of course we have to turn towards the future, but I don't know when that will be. Of course, we have more DLC map packs to provide, and the strategy is to continue to support Titanfall throughout the year."

"If you build a successful franchise, it's important to work on your craft and expand that franchise out. Our primary goal at Respawn is to delight the consumer, and the quality of our work is most important. So if you create a franchise like Titanfall, it's important to expand in that universe."

Electronic Arts, the game's publisher, has already emphasized that it will continue its partnership with Respawn in order to deliver more Titanfall experiences in the future.

However, no exact confirmation has been given about a Titanfall 2, and you shouldn't expect to hear anything anytime soon, as the studio's small team wants to focus on the current experience at least in the near future.
